Avoid Flat, Frizzy Hair With These Winter Hat Tips (VIDEO)

Winning The War On Winter Hat Hair

Winter presents its own sorts of problems when it comes to skin, but tackling hat hair (and the frizzy, flattened staticy-y mess that results from daily wear) is a whole different racket. But as we see in this BellaSugar video above, there are a few convenient workarounds to prevent the predicament in the first place.

For starters, consider what type of hat you're wearing. While a slouchy, loose beret will keep your hairstyle intact, a close-fitting beanie will, for obvious reasons, squash your hair. Furthermore, think about the material: A cotton or cashmere blend will allow hair a little more movement as well.

You can also employ a few important steps before you even put on your hat. Pack in volume ahead of time with a root-boosting spray. You can also tame flyways by spraying hairspray on your hand then smoothing it over any unruliness. If you have longer hair and plan to wear it down, twist it up into a loose bun then tuck into your hat. Once you've arrived, shake out your hair Herbal Essences-style -- it'll give your hair a nice wave effect.
