Coachella 2013 Weekend 1 Sold Out, Weekend 2 Passes Still Available

COACHELLA WEEKEND 1 SOLD OUT

Tickets for Coachella 2013 Weekend 1 sold out Tuesday in record time: a whopping 20 minutes. And yet, nearly 7 hours after tickets went on sale Tuesday, Weekend 2 passes are still available. Could this be proof that the 2013 lineup is a major disappointment for fans of the desert music festival?

Not necessarily. In 2011, it took the (then one-weekend) festival an entire week to sell out. In 2012 however, when Coachella cloned the festival for the first time into two weekends, passes sold out in under two hours.

After a later-than-usual festival lineup announcement and much griping on the web about the bands confirmed, patrons still visited the Coachella website in droves Tuesday morning to secure their festival passes for the 2013 festival.

Rumors of technical difficulties cropped up across the internet and Coachella tweeted the following message soon after the ticket gates opened online:

However, it is the age of the internet, so if you're dying to attend Weekend 1, there are always options. Savvy moneymakers and planners-ahead are already taking to Craigslist, Facebook and Ebay to sell Weekend 1 Coachella passes.

But be warned. There were many instances of counterfeit festival wristbands sold online last year and some very sad concert-goers were turned away at Coachella security.

The festival will be broken up into two identical weekends like it was last year. Weekend 1 runs April 12-14 and Weekend 2 is April 19-21.
