Hotel De Glace, Ice Hotel, Opens Outside Quebec City (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: An Ice Hotel Grows In Quebec City

The annually-erected Hotel de Glace -- a hotel made entirely of, you guessed it, ice -- has opened outside Quebec City.

The hotel debuted in January this year with 44 rooms (up from 36 in 2012, according to MyModernMet.com) and the theme "A Journey to the Center of Winter," inspired by Jules Vernes' 1864 novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth." (Last year's theme was Northern Quebec.)

The hotel, which has attracted some 500,000 visitors since it started welcoming guests, offers a spa, restaurant, chapel and a bar made entirely of ice (which is similar to the offerings of its kindred spirit in Sweden). The Hotel de Glace expects to stay open through March 24, with packages starting at $399.99, according to The Daily Mail.
