Adam Lee Johnson, Gay Michigan Man, Attacked In Alleged Hate Crime

Gay Michigan Man Believes He Was Hate Crime Victim

A gay Michigan man believes he was the victim of a hate crime after a brutal Feb. 3 attack.

Adam Lee Johnson, 29, was allegedly attacked as he was leaving the Muskegon nightspot DJ's Pub & Grill, where he performs karaoke, Fox 17 Online reports.

Johnson, whose talents were showcased on the local reality program "West Michigan Idol" in 2006, says he was leaving the bar at closing time when he was jumped by four men in the parking lot.

"As much as I don’t want to be that guy...I don’t want to cry hate crimes when it’s not serious, but it is,” Johnson said. “I was a victim and I’m still trying to process that and deal with that but I want to find them and bring them to justice I guess.”
