Jenny McCarthy Explains Why Her Talk Show Deal With Oprah Winfrey Fell Through On 'WWHL' (VIDEO)

Jenny McCarthy On Why Her Talk Show Deal With Oprah Fell Through

Jenny McCarthy and Oprah Winfrey had a great rapport for several years, with McCarthy appearing many times on Winfrey's syndicated show. McCarthy dropped by the clubhouse on "Watch What Happens: Live" where she talked about their relationship, and what happened with that syndicated talk show she was supposed to get.

"I had a development deal with Oprah for five years with Harpo ... and it was for syndication," McCarthy explained. "So when OWN happened, like in the last quarter of my contract, she wanted me to go to OWN."

But McCarthy wanted a syndicated show, so they agreed to shake hands and part ways. It was an amicable end to their professional relationship. Perhaps it's a good thing, too, because had Winfrey appeared on her show, McCarthy said the first question she would have asked was, "Is Steadman a beard?"

Nevertheless, McCarthy has finally landed her own talk show, though it isn't in syndication. "The Jenny McCarthy Show" premieres Friday night at 10:30 p.m. EST on VH1. "Watch What Happens: Live" airs Sunday through Thursday at 11 p.m. EST on Bravo.
