Brian Thurman, Illinois Man, Tried To Have Minor He Allegedly Sexually Assaulted Killed

Inmate Tried To Have Minor He Allegedly Assaulted Killed

A Melrose Park, Ill. man currently in Cook County Jail for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl reportedly tried to hire someone to kill his accuser, her 16-year-old sister and mother.

Brian Thurman, 29, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault on Jan. 13 and has been behind bars and ordered held on a $480,000 bail, according to the Daily Herald. And now he faces three counts of both murder for hire and solicitation of murder for hire, the Cook County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday.

After he asked another inmate to help him find a hit man last month, Thurman was given the phone number of someone he believed could do the job -- but was actually an undercover investigator. According to police, Thurman contacted the "hit man" and offered to give him $8,000 and his car in exchange for killing his accuser and her family "as soon as possible," according to the Arlington Cardinal.

Previously, the Cook County Sheriff's Office was investigating whether Thurman had additional young female assault victims that he also lured to his motel room in unincorporated Leyden Township. Police are seeking the public's help in finding other possible victims. Anyone with information has been urged to call (708) 865-4896.

Thurman will appear in bond court on Feb. 10.
