A Miami-Dade Corrections officer stands accused of shooting her husband.
Police say Sgt. Angeleatha L. Chestnut, 47, got into a heated argument with her husband early Friday because he was staying out late hours.
As the fight escalated, Chestnut grabbed a handgun, according to the police report. She then allegedly shot her husband once, striking him in the shoulder.
Authorities say Chestnut's husband was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Chestnut was arrested for attempted second-degree murder; according to CBS Miami, she posted bond Saturday morning.
