Remington Ranch Equestrian Stables Stabbing Leaves 2 Children, 1 Adult Dead

2 Children, 1 Adult Killed In Equestrian Stabbing

Two children under the age of five and one man, age 22, were killed in an apparent stabbing in Falcon, Colorado, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

One-year-old Scarlett Kane and 3-year-old Ryan Willhite, who's birthday would have been on Valentine's Day, were reportedly brother and sister.

Deputies say that when they arrived on the scene Scarlett had already died but her brother was taken to a nearby hospital with severe knife wounds where he was later pronounced dead.

The 22-year-old, identified as Ethan Courrau, is being called a suspect in the stabbings. Courrau suffered knife wounds and was also transported from the scene and died from his injuries.

Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer told the Colorado Springs Gazette that Courrau was not related to the family, though he had some relationship that is not currently being disclosed. Police believe the stabbings took place at the Remington Ranch Equestrian Stables on East Woodmen Road around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

"We primarily have information that would suggest that most of these events occurred in a trailer on the property," Kramer told 7News. "However [there are a] the number of outbuildings we need to make sure we work through."
