Remember the web sensation "Kim Jong-Il Looking at Things?", well it seem Venezuela's ailing president's got one of his own.

More than two months after undergoing surgery for an unspecified cancer in the pelvic area, the Venezuelan government finally released photos of President Hugo Chávez from a hospital in Havana on Friday. Within hours, "Chávez Leyendo Cosas" -- Chávez Reading Things -- had been born on Tumblr.

One of the photos released by officials featured Chávez flanked by his two daughters reading Thursday's edition of Granma, the main Cuban state newspaper. The Tumblr blog, which immediately attracted an audience on Twitter, photoshops a series of substitute reading material into Chávez's hands.

A small selection of the leader's reading options includes the Kama Sutra, the biography of Justin Bieber, Club Nintendo Magazine, and an issue of Maxim.

But in ever-contentious Venezuela, the country's controversial president isn't the only one getting memed. A Tumblr that appeared during the presidential campaign of opposition leader Henrique Capriles lifting things -- "Capriles Levantando Cualquier Vaina" -- experienced a resurgence.

Take a look at people's reactions on Twitter to the appearance of the Hugo Chávez photos. Do you think Chávez will recover? Let us know what you think in the comments.
