Anderson Cooper Tries Bizarre Foods, Freaks Out (VIDEO)

WATCH: Anderson Cooper Is Totally Grossed Out

Fans of Anderson Cooper know that the host is extremely picky about food, so you can just imagine how he might react to being asked to eat seasoned crickets, beef tongue and lamb testicles.

On Thursday, Anderson hosted Andrew Zimmern, the host of "Bizarre Foods" on the Travel Channel, and donned a blindfold for a rare culinary adventure.

First up was seasoned crickets on a skewer, which Anderson warily touched to his mouth. He immediately leapt back and flailed his arms in disgust. "Ugh!" he said when he found out what it was.

The second food was beef tongue tartare, which he concluded "wasn't that bad. The third dish, however, elicited a priceless reaction from Anderson. After realizing that he had put lamb testicles in his mouth, he threw down his blindfold and started wiping his tongue on napkins.

The host has famously idiosyncratic eating habits: he eats Boston Market for months on end, hates hot beverages and has never tried most green vegetables. He tried spinach and coffee for the first time ever on his daytime show in September, and argued about food with Jerry Seinfeld, complaining that he doesn't see the "point" of eggs or waffles.

"Why do you need crispy?" Cooper wondered about waffles. "For the experience of eating!" Seinfeld said. "You are really weird!"
