Scientists said that last year's discovery of the Higgs boson particle may give clues as to how the universe will end and how it may have begun. HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps hosted a discussion on this theory.
"Everybody thought the universe quite reasonably was slowing down," Nye said. "But, it turns out, it's speeding up!"
"If anyone wants to build a a bigger particle accelerator and they're going to ask me as a tax payer to pay for it, I say, 'Yes,'" he added.
