Sunday night, it was Seth MacFarlane's Oscars. Win or lose, the comedian behind "Family Guy," "Ted" and a host of other projects knew he had a lot of to live up to.

MacFarlane -- who said he was working "150 hours a week" -- admitted to being "a little exhausted" in the week before the Academy Awards.

"Who knows how this will go," he said. "Even if it goes great, I just don't think that I could do this again. It's just too much with everything else that I have to do. I'm happy to be doing it and I will be thrilled to have done it, assuming I get out of there in one piece, but I really think this is a one-time thing for me."

Sunday's show was slated to have quite a few moving parts. In addition to MacFarlane's monologue and interstitial commentary, the ceremony included a tribute to James Bond, a "Les Miserables" set-piece, a "Chicago" reunion and performances from Adele and Barbra Streisand.

Ted, the talking teddy bear from MacFarlane's movie by the same name, was also scheduled to appear with Mark Wahlberg as Oscar presenters. MacFarlane voices Ted -- yet another concern for the man who lends his vocal talents to multiple characters on "Family Guy" and "American Dad!"

"'Family Guy' and 'American Dad!' are very vocally taxing shows," he said in pre-show interviews. "There's a lot of high-energy stuff, a lot of screaming, yelling. A lot of vocal contortions. So that becomes really the biggest challenge of all: How to get it all done and keep it all on schedule and not destroy my throat."

The host was also slated to take part in a finale with singer and actress Kristen Chenoweth, a twist for a project that normally ends seconds after the Best Picture winner's acceptance speech.

It's not all bad news for MacFarlane, however. Though he wasn't expected to win, he was up for an Oscar in the Best Original Song Category, for "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" from "Ted." Unfortunately, he was up against Adele's "Skyfall."
