Derek Allan Stilson Allegedly Throws Baby Son On Floor Because He Won't Stop Crying

Dad Throws Crying Baby On Floor 'In Anger': Cops

A South Carolina father has admitted that he threw his infant son on the floor "in anger" because the child would not stop crying, according to court documents.

An incident report states that on Feb. 19, the Hanrahan man had tried to calm the crying child down, and when he was unable to do so, threw the boy on the living room floor, Goose Creek Patch reports.

Stilson called 911 two days later, stating theat the boy was "not acting normal." The child's mother told officials the baby had been suffering from stroke-like symptoms.

After the incident, doctors say the child suffered from "a right skull fracture, bleeding behind the retinas as well as bleeding on the brain," according to an affidavit obtained by WCIV.

The 5-month-old, who is still in critical condition, has been placed in protective custody. Stilson is being held on $250,000 bail.
