If this tumultuous college basketball season has been any indicator then it might finally be a good year to be a No. 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

With the onset of March Madness just a few weeks away, upper echelon hoops teams seem to be suffering upset defeats on a nightly basis. Both No. 1 ranked Indiana and No. 8 Florida went down on Tuesday night to unranked opponents. Both had been penciled in as No. 1 seeds in the Feb. 26 bracket projection by ESPN's Joe Lunardi.

This loss to Minnesota counts as Indiana's third of the season against an unranked opponent while it was ranked No. 1 ... and the Hoosiers have been the most consistent team to hold down the spot in the weekly AP poll. With Duke, Michigan and Louisville failing to hold the top spot for long, Gonzaga is now poised to take another step toward "Goliath" status with the first No. 1 ranking in program history.

Will the Zags fare any better if they survive the week without a loss and attain that spot?

Here are a dozen of the teams with some chance at still landing one of the four No. 1 seeds when the Big Dance gets underway next month. Which team has the easiest route to Selection Sunday? Who has the best chance to impress the committee with a few more marquee wins?
