Burglar Demands A Home-Cooked Meal Of His Hostage

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Orange County police are looking for a man who allegedly held a woman hostage and forced her to cook for him.

Police said the suspect entered an apartment in the 500 block of Lyon Street about 7 a.m. Monday through an unlocked door and stole $100 from a woman's purse while she slept nearby, the Los Angeles Times reports. When the woman's son asked him what he was doing, the suspect fled, police said.

Later, at about 2 p.m., police say he broke into another apartment and bear-hugged a woman, taking her back to her kitchen, the Orange County Register reports. He told the victim he wasn't going to hurt her and demanded she cook him a meal.

As she was cooking, police say the man started smoking a meth pipe and began taking pictures of the woman with a camera, ABC reports.

The suspect told the woman she was beautiful, tried to convince her to go into the shower or bedroom with him and started to unbutton his pants, KTLA reports. She refused, reminding him that he promised not to hurt her.

After approximately two or three hours, the suspect then fled on the woman's son's blue beach cruiser, NBC reports. He was described as a black male, about 40 years old, 5-feet-5 and 160 to 170 pounds, police said. He was wearing a black "snow-type" jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt that had red writing or a logo on the front.
