Elvis and Priscilla Presley had one of the most contentious relationships in Hollywood. The pair met when Priscilla was only 14 years old and got married following a seven-year courtship. The union quickly ended in divorce, but that didn't stop the former Mrs. Presley from having a lucrative Hollywood career. She is also credited with turning Graceland into the historic landmark it is today.
53 years ago today (on Mar. 5), Elvis was discharged from his two-year stint in the US Army. In this 1960 photograph, Priscilla is pictured waving goodbye to Mr. Presley just days before he was released from his duties as Sergeant. Her elegant headscarf, amazing makeup and sophisticated pea coat are an ode to chic 1950s style that we'd like to emulate now.
