In Bed With Joan: Sarah Silverman Is The First Guest On Joan Rivers' New Web Series (VIDEO)

Comedy legend Joan Rivers has new web series that takes place in a bedroom, because why not?

"In Bed With Joan" is a nearly 30-minute conversation between Rivers and a celebrity guest in a not-quite-queen-sized bed, as her first guest Sarah Silverman would describe it. At the top of each episode, the surprise interviewee "comes out of the closet" and has a seat on the bed (or in Silverman's case, under the covers) with Rivers and has a meandering conversation about just about everything. Oh, and did we mention that there's an incredibly tiny, very awkward "studio audience" laughing along the entire time? Yeah, it's pretty offbeat.

Silverman's interview kicks off the series and begins with one of comedy's most unnecessarily divisive topics: Are women funny? Naturally, Sarah answers by dismissing the entire subject with a joke:

"Why is that even an issue anymore? Women run comedy. Have you seen comedy lately? It's all Tina Fey and Whitney Cummings and Joan Rivers... All those hacks."

Watch the video above to hear all of Silverman's musings, including:

  • How hard it is to hang out with non-comedians (Joan: "So I guess you never hang out with Jay Leno?"
  • Which talk show host she'd rather date next: Jimmy Fallon, Oprah Winfrey or Montel Williams?
  • How some guy stole her joke and Gary Shandling made her feel better
  • That time she got booed off the stage for telling a Martin Luther King joke and then got sold out by Eddie Griffin
  • Letting her vagina breathe, just like her mother always told her to do
  • Her time at "Saturday Night Live" with Adam Sandler, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley and more.
  • The comedian alive or dead she would most like to meet (spoiler alert: it's Ruth Gordon)
  • How she likes to smoke a little pot but she doesn't like "druggy people"
  • "Sometimes you don't want to meet your heroes because they end up being really f**king depressing"
  • Her theory that Joan died a long time ago and is now completley animatronic
  • What she thinks her best features are and the importance of being kind to yourself
  • How much she hates Joan's set
  • How her parents only swear gratuitously
  • Her desire to fall in love and have a kid in the next 10 years and how she'll probably adopt because, "Obviously my womb is polluted."
