In 2011, 86-year-old Konstantin Pronin was photographed sitting on a bench while he tried to find other comrades from his unit during Victory Day in Moscow, Russia. According to the AP, the veteran, who is from Belarus, has visited the same spot in Gorky Park every year since the end of WWII.

The image was posted to Reddit's Military subreddit in January this year and regained attention.

"Truly... 'the greatest generation,'" one Redditor wrote.
