Hilaria Baldwin & Daughter Will Talk In Spanish Behind Alec Baldwin's Back

Though Alec Baldwin was partial to the name "Massimo" for his baby-to-be with wife Hilaria Thomas Baldwin, his plans got quashed when the couple learned they were not having a boy.

"So happy about our little girl! Thank you all for the happy wishes xoxo," Hilaria tweeted March 7.

And the new mom, 28, is already making fun plans for her and her daughter -- such as speaking Spanish behind her hubby's back.

"We're having a girl and we definitely want her to speak Spanish," Hilaria, who was born in Mallorca and spent part of her childhood in Spain, told Us Weekly at an event for Glam Belleza Latina magazine. "I was on the phone with my nephew, who's seven. He called me …and he asked me, 'Is she going to speak Spanish?' and I said, 'Yes, but you have to help because she's going to grow up here probably so you have to help speak to her in Spanish.'"

"It's a little tricky because my husband doesn't speak Spanish, so that'll be a little tricky in the house," she added. "But maybe we will have our own conversation and he'll have to learn. We can talk behind his back. I cannot wait!"

The couple, who wed in June 2012, revealed that they were expecting in February.

"We’re having a baby! It was a surprise, a wonderful surprise," Hilaria told "Extra."

“There’s a scream I heard, which is a scream normally reserved if there’s a spider in the house, not exaggerating," Alec said of when his wife took the pregnancy test. "Normally, I will be reading a book. We're in the country, it's quiet, some time to really relax and unwind and sometimes, once a month, you hear ‘Ahhh, Alec, Alec!’ I come upstairs, and there’s a spider on the wall. So then I hear that scream again, but it was not a spider.”
