Emma Watson's 'Cinderella' Role Is Reportedly No More

No 'Cinderella' For Emma

It's no Cinderella story for Emma Watson and Disney, Variety reports. The "Harry Potter" actress was attached to star in the upcoming live-action "Cinderella," but the publication reports that Watson's team wasn't able to reach a deal with Disney for her involvement.

It was reported earlier this year that Watson would play Cinderella, with Kenneth Branagh directing. Variety also confirmed that Cate Blanchett has found a part in "Cinderella" as the wicked stepmother.

Disney, which didn't comment on Watson's departure, is reportedly eyeing a number of actresses for the role, including Saoirse Ronan ("The Host") and Alicia Vikander ("Anna Karenina").

News broke this week that Watson is also out of "Your Voice in my Head," another film that she was expected to star in. She has been replaced by Emily Blunt.
