'Hoarding: Buried Alive': Woman Has Bowl Of Cockroaches In Massively Infested House (VIDEO)

'Hoarding: Buried Alive': Woman Has Bowl Filled With Cockroaches

There are people who hoard stuff and there are people who hoard animals. And then there is Kay on "Hoarding: Buried Alive." She is not an animal hoarder, but her hoarding problem has resulted in her house being absolutely filled with animals. Cockroaches have taken over the residence.

One scene captured how serious the problem is -- both with the cockroaches, and with Kay's bizarre ambivalence about their presence in her home.

"I have a whole, huge bowl of cockroaches here simply because I haven’t cleaned up," she said. "They fell in and can’t get out and I mean, there’s a couple still alive in there. So, I’m going to put the pan back on top. Because I don’t want them out."

And that was her solution to the cockroach problem. The few that were alive in the bowl would stay there until they died, but what about hundreds of roach egg sacks exterminators found? The infestation was overwhelming even for the professionals, who said the cockroaches looked like rats.

Kay became so overwhelmed by the cleanup process that she stormed off the show. But a few months later, the show checked back in and Kay had gotten back on board with the process. Her home was clean and cockroach free.

Tune in for more shocking revelations on "Hoarding: Buried Alive," Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
