Kate Middleton's Hat Was A Snowy Surprise (PHOTOS, POLL)

Are you a fan?

Kate Middleton attended volunteer training today at a scout camp in Windmere, Cumbria, where she learned how to safely build a campfire, and how to roast snacks over it. She chose a hat to protect her head from falling snow... but it was pretty different from the delicately-constructed toppers she's usually spotted in.

For someone who once earned the honorable title "Hat Person of the Year," the Duchess' headgear came as a shock. Instead of opting for a more sophisticated chapeau, Kate kept her ears warm in -- wait for it -- a knit newsboy cap. Her oversize parka did not, unfortuantely, afford a glimpse of that royal bump.

The Daily Mail reports that Kate's cap is from Really Wild Clothing. Will you try to buy the hat?
