Jeffrey Toobin Says 'DOMA's In Trouble,' Gets Hit By Giant Umbrella (VIDEO)

CNN's Jeffrey Toobin was in the middle of commenting on the Supreme Court's hearing on the Defense of Marriage Act when he was unceremoniously hit in the head by a giant umbrella.

Toobin began by saying that he thought the law, which bars same-sex couples from receiving a whole host of federal benefits, was likely doomed.

"I think DOMA's in trouble," Toobin said. "I think it's in trouble because Anthony Kennedy was repeatedly concerned that the Defense of Marriage Act violates state's rights."

He was starting to make another point when a huge umbrella suddenly collided with his head.

"Just an umbrella for one of the lightstands," host Suzanne Malvaeux explained.

"I find I'm thinking more clearly now," Toobin quipped.

For what it's worth, television's other legal guru, NBC's Pete Williams, agreed with Toobin. "Based on oral argument, it did seem there are at least five votes on the Supreme Court to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act," he said.
