Mary Katrantzou x Current/Elliott Designer Collaboration Tops Our Spring Wish List

New Designer Collaboration Features Great Prints, Great Denim

What happens when you combine two great things? You get an even better thing, obviously. So when two of our favorite designers paired up, we got our wallets ready. Mary Katrantzou, a perennial pick among the fashion-forward red carpet set, and Current/Elliott, an easygoing sportswear label injected with downtown cool, have partnered on the hottest designer collab du jour.

Mary Katrantzou explains the motivation to collaborate to Vogue UK: "In our last show, a critic mentioned denim and what it might look like with our prints and we thought that it could be a great challenge to work with denim for the first time."

The collection's prints came from Katrantzou and were inspired by the patterns on banknotes. The designer told Style.com, “We thought denim would be a great challenge and with [Current/Elliott], there seemed to be a synergy with our work—from opposite sides of the spectrum. We wanted it to feel very different to what we usually do.”

We're keen on power-clashing, and the new line's colorful separates allow us to experiment with the risky trend with ease. Relaxed silhouettes make dressing effortless, and we love the way Katrantzou's patterns play off each other when combined.
