GM Evacuated: Gunman, Police Negotiate Inside Romulus Engine Plant

GM Plant Back To Work After Evacuation

A GM engine plant in Metro Detroit was evacuated this morning as police negotiated with a gunman inside the facility.

According to the Detroit News, workers at the plant have been evacuated and quarantined. The incident began at 6 a.m. and all employees are reported to be safe. GM says the plant, located in Metro Detroit, employes nearly 800 people.

Police have taken a man into custody and have allowed workers back into the plant as of 6:50 a.m., according to the Detroit News. Reports say the man may have wanted to harm himself.
