Ozzy Osbourne Split Rumors Claim Sharon Won't Go Back Until He Is Clean

Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne Split Rumors Continue To Swirl

Rumors continue to swirl regarding the rocky state of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's marriage.

Talk of a split first began when The Sun reported last week that they are leading separate lives and living in two different houses in Beverly Hills. Although Jack Osbourne denied his parents are headed for divorce, Ozzy admitted his marriage is strained in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The 64-year-old rocker revealed that he relapsed back into addiction and offered an apology to his wife. In a heartfelt note he wrote: "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family." He added that he has been sober for 44 days.

TMZ claims Sharon will not go back to Ozzy until he is clean and sober for months. She is reportedly not set on ending their 31-year marriage, but is putting her foot down this time.

"They've been through hell and back together," a source told TMZ. "They're not breaking up."

Sharon and Ozzy wed in 1982. In the first years of their marriage, Ozzy battled with drug and alcohol abuse. After one particularly bad four-bottle binge in 1989, he tried to strangle her, according to the Telegraph. The two managed to stay together through this and she is credited with helping rehabilitate him.

Ozzy had maintained his sobriety since 2006. This was quite a feat for him. The former Black Sabbath singer had entered rehab 10 times and tried some 50 other times to quit on his own, according to Rolling Stone.

"When you're on the bottle, you don't realize you're as bad as you are," he told the magazine in 2011. "We've all done something that makes us say, 'Did I do that?' I have all these old photographs of me in the Eighties, Nineties, and I can't remember taking them. I sometimes wonder, 'Is that really me? What the f**k was I smoking at the time?'"

Sharon previously said she doesn't consider divorce a viable option, telling Vanity Fair that she and Ozzy have "always been in it for the long haul."
