'Hoarding: Buried Alive': Biohazard Expert Falls Through Floor

A pair of identical twins got the spotlight on the latest episode of "Hoarding: Buried Alive." Patty and Phyllis considered themselves "compulsive collectors," a moniker they have held their entire lives. But their collecting had gotten so out of hand that the sisters lost control of their own home.

The ladies admitted that they hadn't seen the floor of their shared home in more than a year. The conditions inside the home had gotten so bad that they were facing eviction. Everything was covered in rat and cat droppings.

But the conditions were even worse than they imagined. A biohazard team was brought in to investigate, and one of the experts literally fell through the floor.

The code enforcement officer had no choice. "My recommendation will be to deem the home uninhabitable," he said. The sisters abandoned the home and bought a new home, which they promised to keep more organized. But they've been here before.

Five years ago, they were living in yet another home, as pointed out by Entertainment Tonight. That home became so filled with trash and destroyed that authorities had no choice but to tear it down. Will history repeat itself again?

See more shocking messes every week on "Hoarding: Buried Alive," Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
