UMass-Dartmouth Student: Weird Knowing Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Was Among Us (VIDEO/PHOTOS)

The campus at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth was evacuated Friday after college officials learned Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was a registered student there. Tsarnaev is still at large, while his alleged accomplice and older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in an overnight firefight.

Several outlets reported UMass-Dartmouth students saw Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on campus after the bombings. Two students told WBZ they spoke with Tsarnaev on campus after the bombings, one on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday.

The Boston Globe reports Tsarnaev worked out at the campus gym Wednesday and slept in his single-unit dorm room that night.

UMass-Dartmouth decided to close the campus Friday morning, later announcing they would remain on lockdown Saturday as well, according to a Facebook post from the university.

National Guard Lt. Col. James Shahady told southern Massachusetts newspaper The Standard-Times that Black Hawk helicopters reported as circling UMass Darmouth's campus were being used to carry supplies to support law enforcement efforts in Boston.

UMass-Dartmouth students Erin Glynn, Jake Pesante and Siobhan Mangan joined HuffPost Live with their reaction to the news that one of the bombing suspects not only attended the university, but also was on campus just a day after the explosions. The campus is about 60 miles south of Boston.

"The kid looks familiar, I don't know him ... but it's weird knowing that he was among us," Pesante said.

Glynn, who also does not know the suspect, said everyone who knows of Tsarnaev told her he was normal and quiet.

"It's just surprising, especially coming from UMass-Dartmouth, it's just shocking," Glynn said.
