Andrew Kitzenberg Photographs Watertown Shootout From Upstairs Window

LOOK: Unbelievable Watertown Shootout Photos

Andrew Kitzenberg was working on his computer early Friday, just after midnight, when he "heard multiple 'pops' coming from outside" his home in Watertown, Mass. "At that point, I had no idea that I was about to become an eye witness to the biggest news story in the country," he later wrote in his blog, OnHand.

Kitzenberg grabbed his iPhone 5 and scurried to his third-floor bedroom window. When he looked out, he saw Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev -- the suspected Boston Marathon bombers -- fighting for their lives with police. Kitzenberg live-tweeted the violence and captured photos of the midnight shootout. The Tsarnaev's police encounter, documented by Kitzenberg, ended with Tamerlan dead in the street and Dzokhar once again on the run.
