Anthony Weiner On Twitter Scandal: 'Some Things May Come Out That Are True' (VIDEO)

Anthony Weiner Hints There Might Be More To Twitter Scandal

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) dropped hints in an interview posted Wednesday that some details surrounding the Twitter scandal that led to his resignation in 2011 may not have been made public at the time.

"Is there more stuff out there?" Weiner told NBC 4 New York's Andrew Siff. "Look, some of these people who are at the other end of these things, their lives have been turned upside down. Some of them have come forward willingly and shared things."

"I can tell you that some things may come out that are true, some things are not," Weiner said.

Weiner echoed those hints during an interview with RNN-TV Wednesday.

“If reporters want to go try to find more, I can’t say that they’re not going to be able to find another picture, or find another... person who may want to come out on their own, but I’m not going to contribute to that. The basics of the story are not gonna change," Weiner said.

Weiner veered away from the details of the scandal, however.

"Basically, New Yorkers know the story," Weiner told NBC 4 New York. "I did it. I did it with multiple people. These things were wrong and inappropriate. And I never should have been dishonest about them."

Weiner, according to an interview with The New York Times Magazine published earlier this month, is considering a run for New York City mayor.

Weiner rejoined Twitter on Monday with a new account, two years after accidentally tweeting a suggestive photo of himself. Weiner's first official tweet from his new account, @AnthonyWeiner, was a 21-page booklet of his policy proposals for New York.
