Home DIY projects will be popping up all over the place this season. That means you’ll need a good hammer trick when you’re hanging a new photo or building something cool. We found a clever little tip from WonderHowTo to help make sure you protect your fingers while holding a nail in place.
Simply grip the tack using a bobby pin until it’s steady in place. By holding the clip instead of the hook, you’ll lower the chances of catching your hands. Lifehacker has an awesome photo demonstrating just how to do this. You can also try placing a typical hair comb over the nail, which will also act as a safety net.
The best part about these little tricks is the fact that they make DIYing a lot more fun. After all, when you can complete a project without hurting yourself, it’s fabulous.
