There's nothing more frustrating than the list of things you CAN'T do to fix up your home when you're renting. We totally get it: You'd like to make the space your own, but those builder-grade finishes just don't represent your stylish self. Don't give in to the miles of tan carpeting, boring kitchen cabinets and unflattering lighting. While we suggest asking for permission first, there are definitely some upgrades that should fly with your landlord and make your place look great.
