Portia De Rossi Wants 'Arrested Development' Movie, Too

Portia de Rossi dropped by "Late Night" to chat up the new season of "Arrested Development" coming to Netflix later this month. But, of course, she found herself facing questions about the future of the cult classic beyond those fifteen installments. What about the "AD" movie?

"We thought that finally we’d just have to not answer that question anymore, but more than ever people seem to want a movie," she said. "We gave you 15 episodes and now you want a movie.”

She did say that she hopes a movie happens, too, but nothing is certain at this point -- except the new season. In 2011, the movie seemed a certainty, but times have changed and fans have 15 half-hour episodes to look forward to instead on May 26. But it could still all be leading up to a movie.

Jason Bateman told Rolling Stone that if a movie does happen, it's at least a year away. So you might want to pace yourself with the new episodes -- or just prepare to watch the whole series a few more times while you wait ... and hope.

Portia de Rossi and the entire Bluth family return for a new season of "Arrested Development." The entire 15-episode season will be available starting May 26 on Netflix. Tune in to "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" every weeknight at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
