Shawnee, OK Tornado Reported As Storm System Tears Through Oklahoma, Kansas And Iowa

U.S. Tornado Reportedly Turns Deadly

A tornado tore through Shawnee, Oklahoma on Sunday, and news sources report at least one person was killed.

According to News9.com and Fox News, at least one death was reported in Shawnee, and vehicles were overturned.

The Associated Press also confirmed one death near Shawnee. AP reports:

A storm spotter has told the National Weather Service that the tornado "scoured" the landscape in the park and an area along Interstate 40.

The highway has been closed because of overturned tractor-trailers that now litter the road.

Tornadoes were reported across Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service website, "After over 300 reports of severe weather on Sunday, another round of dangerous severe weather is expected Monday with the greatest threat once again in the southern Plains targeting Oklahoma and parts of Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas."
