Heidi Klum Says Judging 'America's Got Talent' Is Harder Than 'Project Runway' (VIDEO)

Heidi Klum Says It's Hard Judging 'America's Got Talent'

New "America's Got Talent" judge Heidi Klum\ chatted with Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" about her new gig. She said that while it was a lot of fun, it also proved to be much harder than she anticipated. According to Klum, it's a lot easier to judge the contestants from the comfort of her couch at home than it is to do it live and in front of those acts.

“They’re just super nervous and took everything to go on the stage and do what they wanna do, and you have to tell them they’re not good," she said. "It’s hard.

She even went so far as to say that judging on "AGT" is even more difficult than judging on her own show, "Project Runway." "It’s more about them being talented designers," she said of "Runway." "When there’s a little kid singing and you have to tell them, ‘It wasn’t really that good,’ it’s hard.”

With all that talk about how hard the job is, Leno asked her why she even agreed to do the show. Klum said she gets paid to be entertained all day long, and how can you beat that? And it looks like anticipation is high for the new judges. Lines for a recent taping in Chicago wrapped around buildings.

Watch Heidi Klum, alongside fellow new judge Mel B, when "America's Got Talent" premieres June 4 on NBC. "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
