The Memorial Day weekend just got a little happier if you're a veteran.
The Denver Dumb Friends League is hosting a pet adoption special called "Honoring Our Vets With Loyal Pets." The special waives adoption fees for cats and dogs 1 year old and older for veterans and is ongoing through Sunday (the DDFL shelter is closed on Memorial Day).
Veterans may bring "proof of service" documents, including discharge papers, an old ID card or any service medals and take home a new best friend!
