British-born, Los Angeles-based folk musician Laura Marling hit the stage in Chicago Thursday night at the historic Athenaeum Theatre.

The Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter is on the road in support of her soon-to-be-released new album "Once I Was an Eagle" and debuted a brand new song on the stage, joking that she's going to "make Chicago my debuting city," referencing a previous Chicago gig, Robert Loerzel noted in his Underground Bee review of the show.

According to our friends at HuffPost UK, the new album is already winning rave reviews, including from one writer who deemed her "the greatest female singer-songwriter of a generation."

Also at the concert was photographer Joshua Mellin, who shared some of his favorite shots from the night with HuffPost below.
