Neuer 0, Weidenfeller 0.

This was the most accurate description of the halftime score of the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The German goalkeepers -- Manuel Neuer and Roman Weidenfeller -- withstood point-blank shots to keep the end-to-end action at Wembley Stadium without a goal through the first forty-five minutes.

With Dortmund more energetic at the start, Neuer was quickly forced into action in the Bayern net. He was up to the early challenges -- both on the ground and through the air.

At the other end of the pitch, Weidenfeller proved Neuer's equal in the first half, notably blocking a shot (with his face) from Bayern striker Arjen Robben far from his line in a one-on-one situation.
