'Call of the Wildman': Cottonmouth Snakes In A Pool

Ernie "Turtleman" Brown Jr. proved why his show is titled "Call of the Wildman" in the latest premiere. It takes a real wildman to jump into a pool with cottonmouth snakes. A cottonmouth near Jacksonville, FL last year was almost 7 feet in length.

Luckily, Turtleman wasn't facing a monster of that size, but it was still a very dangerous situation. I’m face to face with this snake. I’m in his territory now and he knows he can out maneuver me," Turtleman said.

At one point, Turtleman was underneath the water, nervous to emerge. "I said, 'Oh no, this is it -- I’m gonna come back up and the snake’s gonna be there to bite me in the face.'”

He did manage to get the snake -- as well as avoiding that dangerous bite. The venom of a cottonmouth breaks down tissure causing victims to hemmorhage.

There were two snakes in the pool, and Turtleman managed to save their lives, capturing and removing them safely and unharmed.
