MSNBC debuted its new weekend show on Saturday called "Disrupt with Karen Finney."
The network announced in April that the Democratic strategist and MSNBC political analyst would host her own hourlong weekend show on Saturdays and Sundays. "Disrupt" was originally scheduled to debut in May, when former primetime host Ed Schultz premiered his new weekend show. The network pushed back Finney's debut to Saturday, June 8, where she hosted the lead-in hour to "The Ed Show."
Finney opened her show with a line playing on the program's title. "Thanks for disrupting your afternoon," she said. "I'm Karen Finney. Let's get to it." She kicked off her show with a segment on what she called the "conservative war on women."
"You know my mother always told me that people do and say stupid things when they're scared," she said. "And that's about the best reason I can come up with to explain how it is that the conservative war on women did not actually end on November 6, 2012."
Finney then interviewed her first guest, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.). Watch the interview in the clip above.
