Jimmy Siders, Suspect In Pace University Student Murder, Reportedly Holding Multiple People Hostage (UPDATE)

Update: The Associated Press reports police were unable to find Siders during Wednesday's standoff and he was never inside the building. His family did not let officials inside the apartment and therefore initially treated it as a hostage situation.

NYPD officers have surrounded a building on 40 Madison Street in the Lower East Side, where a man is reportedly holding multiple people hostage.

CBS reports the man believed to be holding the victims hostage, Jimmy Siders, is a suspect in the 2010 murder of Pace University student Max Moreno.

Police issued a warrant for Siders's arrest at 8:45 Wednesday morning for his alleged connection to Moreno's murder.

Upon police arrival, The New York Post reports Siders barricaded himself and three other people, including children and his wheelchair-bound mother, inside the apartment building.

Negotiators are reportedly communicating with Siders from the hallway.
