Mel reconnected with her childhood best friend on the latest "Melissa & Joey." Austin, played by "90210" star Trevor Donovan, was like a brother to her when they were children. Now that he's all grown up and gorgeous, though, she found herself thinking about him in new ways. Joe was pretty sure he was doing the same. So they went on a date to see where it could lead.
Things were developing nicely on the romantic front, until Joe made a startling revelation. After looking through an old photo album, he realized that Austin as an adult looked a lot like Mel's father when he was younger. And, in fact, Austin looked nothing like his own family. Was Mel on a date with her brother?
Of course, Joe got into Mel's head, and she decided she needed a DNA test. This led to her first cutting Austin's hair abruptly, and then yanking it out at the root when she learned that this was the part needed for the test. Finally, she came clean and Austin was all for getting a DNA test. He admitted he'd caught Mel's dad once with his mother.
The good news was that they weren't related, and so their relationship could continue to blossom. Donovan Tweeted that he was super excited for his story arc to start. How long before Mel destroys this relationship?
