On his WNYC radio show, "Here's the Thing," Alec Baldwin talks to great guests such as Elaine Stritch and Kristen Wiig, and this week he invited Rosie O'Donnell into the studio to discuss everything from her days as a stand up comedian to her life as a newlywed and new mom.

Since her lastest talk show, "The Rosie Show" ended on OWN last year, O'Donnell has been keeping a low profile professionally, but personally she married her second wife, Michelle Rounds, who she adopted a baby with.

Among the many interesting tidbits from the interview, O'Donnell divulges how Nora Ephron's son was one of the reasons she was cast in "Sleepless in Seattle":

"That night at dinner, she [Ephron] said 'Oh, I interviewed this girl today, her name is Rosie O'Donnell.' Her son Jacob, who was 10 at the time, who was a Madonna freak, was like, 'Oh my God, mom, I know her!' He ended up being a gay man, now a writer at 'The Times,' a great guy. Nora ended up getting me an apartment in the Athorp building [the same building as Ephron] after the movie, and Jacob used to come over to my apartment and talk about him being gay and not knowing how to tell his mom... I helped him come out."

O'Donnell also sums up her take on homosexuality and how people were confused about her love for Tom Cruise:

"Here's what people don't understand about homosexuality, it's not that you cant have satisfactory sex with the opposite gender, it's just that your heart and your soul and your connection and desire for emotional intimacy is only really served by someone of the same sex."
