It didn't seem to matter to the newspapers in Chicago which Blackhawks player was featured on the covers provided the Stanley Cup had a prominent spot.
The morning after the Blackhawks' thrilling title-clinching win in Game 6 the Stanley Cup Finals, the cover of the Chicago Tribune featured a picture of Dave Bolland holding the historic trophy. Bolland scored the cup-clinching goal in the final minute of the game. RedEye, on the other hand, ran a photo of team captain Jonathan Toews hoisting the Cup.
As for the losing side, the Boston newspapers portrayed the empty feeling of coming up just short of winning the Stanley Cup.
