As we head into the dogs days of summer, The Standard Hotel & Spa treated their members to a special doggie brunch over the weekend that had everything from doggie pools, tennis balls, Frisbees and a real fire hydrant out by the dock. Most pooches opted for a little dip in the pool; some headed for the shade and what seemed like a delicious K-9 carrot cake and liver ice cream created by Standard Hotel Chef Vanessa Lane. Perfect for a summer cool down.
All kinds of breeds, sizes, and ages enjoyed their brunch as they greeted each other with sniffs and licks, barks and those 'puppy dog' eyes some still know how to master with perfect strangers when they want something. As for their parents, they enjoyed ice cold teas and a special brunch menu. It was a good day poolside at The Standard before the afternoon showers.
