Inside The World's Hippest Underground Newsstand (VIDEO)

New Hotspot On Brooklyn Commute.

New York has no shortage of hole in the wall gems. After all, one-of-a-kind finds are what most Brooklynites live for. So it is no surprise that Williamsburg residents would not settle for average vendors on their morning commute. Enter The Newsstand, hippest solution to your commonplace magazine booths.

The Newsstand is a temporary space selling all things quintessentially Williamsburg including zines, records, novels, and photographs. It recently popped up at the L/G stops in Lorimer/Metropolitan station and has not gone unnoticed, immediately being dubbed a hipster haven by The Gothamist, Papermag and Refinery 29. And while the blogosphere has scrambled with the never before heard "hipster" jokes, the store doesn't appear to have much of an issue with the moniker; In fact it seems to have embraced it all too eagerly.

According to ANIMAL New York, the stand while full of DYI charm was actually set up with P.R. assistance from creative agency ALLDAYEVERYDAY. Check out an interview with the creatives behind The Newsstand above.

In case you get a craving for cold Kombucha, The Newsstand is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m on weekends.
