Best Tweets: What Women Said On Twitter This Week

The Funniest Tweets From Women This Week

Even if you aren't a tennis fan, it was hard to miss the buzz surrounding last weekend's Wimbledon finals at the All England Club in London. In addition to the excitement that UK native son Andy Murray finally took home the men's trophy, lots of criticism emerged of the near constant reference to his win as Britain's first Wimbledon victory in 77 years -- even though Virginia Wade won the women's final in 1977.

Women on Twitter had lots to say about this oversight -- "Murray is indeed the first Brit to win Wimbledon in 77 years unless you think women are people," tweeted Chloe Angyal -- as well as the terrible thing BBC commentator John Inverdale said about women's final winner Marion Bartoli. "Perhaps John Inverdale could help us out now with a few tasteful remarks about #murray not being 'a looker'? #wimbledon," suggested the Guardian's Invisible Woman*. They also offered up some priceless commentary on the tournament in general, and the time Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler took a court-side selfie specifically.

And that was just Sunday. Since then the funny ladies of Twitter have remarked on the demise of George Clooney and Stacy Keibler's two-year relationship, Jay-Z's foray into performance art, that unfortunate incident involving Justin Bieber and a bucket and Justin Timberlake's obliviously titled latest single, "Take Back The Night." It's been a busy week.
