Vine & Movie Posters: Classic Cinematic Moments Turned Into Six-Second Videos (VIDEO)

Classic Movie Posters Turned Into Vines

Filmmaker Zachary Goldberg recently created a very contemporary homage to the cinematic wonder of The Criterion Collection.

Via Vine, he's crafted a series of six-second videos that emulate the covers of some of our favorite cult films. From Charlie Chaplin's "Modern Times" to Terrence Malick's "Badlands," the resulting clips are clever tributes to the history of cinema.

"I tried to use cover art that would be unique from one another, all reflecting different styles of filmmaking," Goldberg writes on his blog. "Note the camera movement of the 'Badlands' clip, the animation of the 'Modern Times' clip, and the minimalism and use of off-screen sound of the 'A Man Escaped' clip."

Goldberg and his production team are asking fans and cinephiles to partake in the project by creating their very own film-inspired Vines. So if you feel moved to imagine your own poster-turned-video just tweet your final product here.

Let us know your thoughts on the Criterion Vines in the comments (don't forget to turn on the sound when viewing).
