Matilda Meades-Cubitt, Student, On Styling A Mohawk During That 'Awkward Phase'

How To Style A Mohawk During That 'Awkward Phase'

In a crowd of sweaty people, we spotted Matilda Meades-Cubitt looking effortlessly cool in her B-girl inspired outfit. (How fly are her chain necklaces, oversized headphones and metallic gold jersey?) The student took a break from her studies to fill us in on her beauty routine.

Meades-Cubitt uses mostly drugstore products, including Burt's Bees facial cleanser and Revlon foundation. But her winged-out eye makeup comes courtesy of Bobbi Brown eyeliner. "It took a lot of practice, but I finally got the cat-eye to work for me," she said.

When we asked Meades-Cubitt what was going on underneath her black beanie, she said, "I used to have a mohawk and this is just what my hair has turned into as it's grown out. It's an awkward kind of shape right now, and I use a curling iron to flip the ends and make it more tousled." Now that's hat hair worth having!
