Craft Breweries, NRDC Join Forces To Defend Clean Water Act

WATCH: Craft Breweries Join Environmental Fight

“Start with the best ingredients.”

You’ll hear that advice coming from experts when people ask them how to be good cooks. That same advice works for beer, too, and water is the main ingredient in beer so it makes sense when brewing beer to start with the best, cleanest water. Brewers who are serious about the quality of their products care about water from both an environmental standpoint and a business standpoint.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is partnering with American breweries, asking them to take the Brewers for Clean Water Pledge and defend the Clean Water Act.

If clean water and good beer is important to you, there are a couple of things you can do support both.
  • Support the breweries that have taken the pledge and are working to make our water cleaner and safer by purchasing their products when you can.
  • Add your voice, as an environmentalist and a beer drinker, to the voices of the brewers by sending a message to President Obama, through the NRDC website’s easy to use form, asking him to give the Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency the tools they need to crack down on water pollution.
